Job description
In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving upon Seemore’s strategic direction, assuring achievement of sales goals and implementing trade programs nationally. The VP of Sales will develop and manage the sales team to maintain and grow distribution networks, sell and open new accounts, maintain excellent customer relationships, execute trade spend strategy and liaise with the company’s marketing department to drive trial and promote the brand. Success will be measured through achieving targeted company initiatives and meeting volume and financial goals. A great candidate will have a deep knowledge of the grocery landscape nationwide, innovation sell-in, promotion management, data analysis and general account upkeep.

Responsibilities
- Achieve top and bottom-line sales goals and manage sales budget
- Lead the development and execution of the sales strategy to sell into targeted accounts such as Whole Foods Market, Kroger, Target (as well as additional natural/conventional grocery, club, food service), which includes creating an ROI criteria set to assess new business opportunities and defining clear objectives and challenging goals to gain market share.
- Manage sales pipeline and sales forecasts working closely with distributors and retailers.
- Successfully develop and execute strategies to achieve annual revenue and operating targets
- Manage trade spend budget and promotional processes from the planning stage to execution, ensuring all retailer timelines are met, deliverables are executed, and communication is timely to internal parties and the retailer.
- Analyze and report out on various data sources/insights to identify business opportunities and strategies that effectively grow the business including, promotional performance, velocity, voids, acv, sales doors per distribution.
- Manage the annual sales targets into quarterly and monthly sales goals, and establish a plan for achieving them in collaboration with direct reports.
- Act as relationship manager with key distributors, customers and business partners.
- Present products, conduct category reviews, and use other related information with clients to gain sales and establish accounts.
- Assess and manage broker relationships including onboarding/training, setting business objectives (volume, trade spend, distribution, new items) and reporting out on performance against company and store level objectives and priorities.
- Coach and hold accountable direct reports to achieve annual sales plan, goals, KPIs and strategies as well as developing their career path skills and competencies.
- Coordinate activities to increase awareness and sell-through with target demographics in liaison with the Marketing Department including trade marketing, digital/social media, and influencer campaigns.
- Coordinate projects with internal and external resources (product development, production planning, logistics, finance, trade, sales operations, etc.).
- Manage the tools and materials the sales organization needs in order to achieve business objectives, including CRM platform and trade spend software solution.
- Travel nationally to maintain and create accounts and to build relationships
- Other related assignments as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7-10+ years of meat/protein/fresh food sales and management experience with proven success in attaining ambitious sales goals. Preference for experience in selling refrigerated grocery, deli, or meat items.
- Genuine interest in and passion for the company’s vision and mission.
- Experience growing a young brand and pioneering retail sales.
- Ability to collaborate with all types of functions (R&D, Marketing Communications, Finance, Strategy, etc.)
- Proven success working independently and navigating in an ever changing and often chaotic (and exciting) high growth environment.
- Positive attitude and drive to excel.
- Dynamic, hands-on leader with demonstrated success as both a top-performing sales person and as a leader
