Job description

We seek a full-time chef to lead our wood-fired farm to table restaurant, the Grange, that is connected to its own 3 acre Hearth Farm. This chef will showcase peak seasons from the farm through rustic and agriculturally thoughtful menus, and will lead our preservation and larder-building program.

The owners are a well-respected and influential farming couple, the space is a historic Grange building in downtown Duvall, WA, the heart of King County agriculture. In our 3 ½ years running, the Grange has cultivated a beautiful culture around food, farming, art, music and community. We have an amazingly talented staff in place that practices a positive and authentic work ethic. Each person who works here is paid well and given bonuses. Full time staff are eligible to opt into the Grange health insurance program. We are sworn to cultivating health in humans, our crew and guests, as well as the soil we tend.

Qualifications:

This is a Chef de Cuisine Position: no major schedule restrictions. You will work the line, as it is an independently owned restaurant.
3 years’ experience as chef or comparable lead
Experience with pizza
Experience cooking with wood fire
Clear communication skills
Creation and costing of menu items
Thoughtful and progressive staff management
Accurate and balanced inventory experience
Thoughtful understanding and use of ingredients with a farm focus
Follow health and safety procedures
Current and updated resume and references

Compensation: Competitive industry standard wage for a working Chef de Cuisine. Benefits package including health care, bonus structure and vacation.

Compensation
