Sierra Harvest is a nonprofit dedicated to educating, inspiring, and connecting the people of Nevada County to fresh, local, seasonal food.  We train dozens of farmers, organize hundreds of community events, and educate and help feed over 9,500 school children.  We envision a thriving local food economy and a network of financially viable farms providing good food for the community, where health and wellness are the norms and people of all ages are engaged in growing, harvesting, preparing, and sharing fresh food.  We are creating a place where farmers thrive and residents of all ages have access to nutritious, whole food.

Job description Sierra Harvest's Food Love Farm is devoted to promoting nutrition education, food security, and community involvement. The farm hosts 2,000 visitors a year including hundreds of youth through summer camp and school field trips.  Sierra Harvest supports children in understanding where real food comes from, how they can grow and prepare nutrient dense foods, and we provide experiences that influence and improve healthy behaviors and lifestyle choices for the rest of their lives.
 

The Food Love Farm Manager manages daily activities of the Food Love Farm including supervising educators and volunteers; managing food production; coordinating and conducting field trips and summer camp, and building and maintaining community partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for our mission, 3+ years of organic farming experience, and be enthusiastic about educating the next generation of eaters, gardeners, and farmers!
