Company description
Founded in 2010, Share the Harvest Farm is a 501c(3) non-profit farm with a mission to fight food insecurity on the East End of Long Island, NY, through fresh, organically-grown produce. We do this by growing diverse vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers on 6 acres of protected land, delivering fresh produce to community partners (food pantries, senior centers, women’s shelters, affordable housing units, and more) for donation each week, maintaining an on-site farm stand and utilizing the profits to continue to fund our work, and prepping/freezing produce during winter months for year-round donation. Although we are not certified, we grow via organic methods and work to ensure soil maintenance and health as well as thoughtful stewardship of the land.
We support our mission by operating a road-side farm stand that sells freshly-harvested produce as well as artisanal products from our farm and regional merchants. We’re looking to staff our stand with foodies with retail experience, creative thinkers, and folks with a commitment to community! An ideal candidate will share our dedication to ecological, social, and economic sustainability and will actively engage in our mission to “Share the Harvest” with all.
