Job description
Foxfire Mountain House, located in Mt. Tremper, NY is one of the top inns of the Catskills and is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our existing kitchen team. Foxfire is a leader in the ever-growing food scene in the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains. We have established direct relationships with the best farmers and producers in the region, have an expanding kitchen garden on property and look to continue to grow our live fire cooking, in-house baking, preserving and fermentation programs. We are continuously evolving our culinary program and are looking for a creative team member to help us with our vision. - The ability to cook creatively and be passionate about your craft.
- An insatiable appetite to stay current on industry changes and trends to ensure our dining program is compelling and thought provoking.
- The ability to work within an existing team.
- The skills to prep and execute a la carte dinner service for hotel guests and the dining public in addition to catered events for up to 150 guests during our May-October event season. We're extremely pleased to have 40 events to look forward to in 2022!
- A need to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing, seasonal menus for both our restaurant and on-site events.
- Passion for detail, consistency, and timing.
- A desire to learn, grow and evolve as a culinary professional.
- Well-honed culinary skills in a broad section of disciplines.
- Stringent kitchen sanitization and organization practices.
- Strong kitchen inventory and ordering experience.
- The desire to work with a tech-savvy team that uses Google Suite to ensure clear communication between departments.
