Company description Applecroft Catering is a farm to table wood fired catering company in Maine. Job description

My name is Shane and I moved to Maine seven years ago from Brooklyn to save my family's farm. I started a farm to table, wood fired catering company with a focus on destination weddings and it’s been a huge success. The company is headquartered on a 100 acre farm with a huge barn and lots of fields and forest and waterfront. I am working on building a kind of Blue Hill Stone Barns type setting to farm, entertain, educate and house guests. We are fully booked for the 2022 season and ready to rock. Last year I hired a fantastic chef to run my catering kitchen (he had been running my restaurants) and now I am looking to add another rock solid team member to work closely with him.

We do not have menus and can take full advantage of the amazing local farms to be creative and forage, ferment, cure, smoke etc to come up with the best meals each week. We only have events on Saturdays so there is some structure to the week and you will have plenty of down time to relax and enjoy the summer. This is not a high stress restaurant job! We cook every weekend in beautiful spots and work with super friendly people so the vibe is always great.

I need someone who can commit to at least working mid May through mid November. You should be very comfortable cooking for 200 people at a time in an open kitchen.

Experience cooking over wood is a plus but not required. Great knife skills and good understanding of an array of culinary techniques are needed.

$900 / week guaranteed for 25 - 50 hours worked per week. Housing provided and tons of free leftovers! Includes use of a company vehicle. There’s miles of trails, campsites, a canoe, and lake to swim in as well.

I am also looking for another person to help with event planning, gear management and cleaning. So if you have a friend or partner this would be a great opportunity to spend a season in Maine where you could be saving most of your money each week.

For 2023 I will be adding an event venue as well as a campground and starting work on an agriculture and educational programs. If you wanted to talk about staying on full time after this season and getting involved in the larger projects that would be real cool. I also understand if you don't want to spend the winter in Maine.

Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
