Prometheus Farms LLC., located in Livonia NY, is seeking a business partner(s)/co-owners to help our fledgling farm-to-table permaculture farm, market and food truck/catering business get off the ground. Our 11-acre farm was established 2017, but we just opened our farm market & café in 2021. Our farm production includes specialty fruits & vegetables; free range poultry; goat dairy products; horticultural plants; aquaculture; and woodland products. In our 2022 season, we would like to expand the availability of our value-added prepared food items.

On site, we have a 1200 sqft farm market/cafe; two commercially certifiable kitchens; and two food trucks under construction. Our plan is for the food trucks to initially operate mostly on-farm, but would like to expand to service off-site catering-type opportunities. Our café features baked goods (sweet and savory) made from ingredients produced on our farm (i.e., eggs, goat dairy, fruit, etc.); craft cold beverages (smoothies, shrubs, kombuchas); and fair-trade craft coffee, tea and chocolate beverages sourced from local producers. The tentative plan for the food truck/catering components of the business is to feature ethnically diverse dishes made from seasonal farm-produced ingredients. We hope to achieve a “Slow Food” ambiance where food truck customers linger and enjoy our farm atmosphere and hopefully shop at our market.

Currently, we have strong expertise in food production, so rounding our team with people with commercial culinary/hospitality experience would be ideal. However, people with agricultural backgrounds are still encouraged to apply. In either case, we need to recruit team members that are prepared to participate in all aspects of the farm business. We are located a quarter of a mile from the Conesus Lake and the NY State Boat Launch, so we believe our agritourism potential is very high. Our farm production is direct marketed through our 1700 sqft farm market; 1200 sqft deck; and other outside sales areas. Our kitchens and food truck will source their ingredients primarily through our farm market. On site, the food truck and café customers can enjoy their meals and beverages inside at our café seating or on our deck and other outside seating areas. To attract customers to our farm, we feature agritourism activities that include our farm animal petting zoo, music and art events, educational offerings and seasonal celebrations. In time, we would like to use our food trucks and kitchen resources to tap into the high-value catering and market outlets available in our region. We are developing a network of grower/producer cooperators to help round our product inventory and share our production resources. Full time operation of our market and café occurs from May through September. In the offseason (October – April), we plan to establish a food cooperative in our market, as well as feature farm-to-table community-based gathering. In summary, the business potential of Prometheus Farms, Market and Kitchens is huge, but will require ambitious, creative and dedicated partners to be fully realized.
