Essex Market is New York City’s largest public market and the centerpiece of the citywide public markets portfolio managed by NYC EDC. The Lower East Side Partnership (LESP) is the operational partner for Essex Market, and provides programming, promotional, and logistical support to NYC EDC. This includes all community-based programming and other promotional activities at Essex Market.
Part-Time Temp Cooking & Nutritional Instructor
Lower East Side Partnership is seeking a temporary, part-time cooking and nutrition instructor for Essex Market's public programming beginning ASAP through June. This position would host cooking demonstrations for children and adults of various ages via neighboring partner organizations.
Skills
– Intermediate culinary skills.
– Experience teaching a preset curriculum as well as the capability to create new recipes focused on healthy eating using accessible and affordable ingredients.
– Approachable and energetic demeanor open to educating a multitude of groups with varying cooking knowledge.
– Communicative and detail-oriented in working with internal organization staff.
Compensation
$25 per hour
Days & Hours
Mondays 8AM-4PM
Tuesdays 9AM-6PM
+ billable hours for remote clerical work such as programmatic data tracking and curricula expansion
