Job description

We are looking for a CHEF DE CUISINE for a successful new American restaurant in Woodstock NY (12498).

It's going to be another boom season in the Hudson Valley and Catskills, and we need a chef to steer the flagship of the most critically acclaimed family-owned group of restaurants in the region.

Salary: $65K to $80K based on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee food prep.

Maintain consistency of presentation in all menu items.

Work a station on the kitchen line as needed, up to 4 nights per week.

Train BOH staff members.

Make the BOH weekly schedule, with an eye on labor costs.

Order ingredients and other operating supplies.

Manage food costs while maintaining good vendor relations.

Maintain DOH compliance.

Keep the kitchen clean and organized, equipment maintained.

Work closely with the owner and other members of the management team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in a similar managerial role.

A deep knowledge of classic cooking, and a broad knowledge of world cuisines.

Ability to work 50+ hours a week.

People skills, not just cooking skills.

A good problem-solving attitude in a difficult labor market.

Our Minimum wage for all staff is $20 an hour. Our dishwashers start at $20 an hour.

Compensation

this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
