About Hill Farm Inn
Sagra is converting the property back to agricultural use alongside the development of the Inn’s hospitality offerings -- including experiential farm components and an operating restaurant and bar on site.
Hill Farm is a boutique hotel located on a 200 year old farm in Southern Vermont. The Inn is in the Equinox Mountain valley, with spectacular views of both the Green and Taconic Mountain ranges. The property consists of 70 scenic acres of farmland and marshland with over 2 miles of walking trails, including a mile of frontage on the BattenKill River. Hill Farm Inn has 25 bedrooms in the original inn, annex and surrounding cottages, accommodating 50 guests. The restaurant and bar are scheduled to open in August of 2022.
Job description
About the Role
The role will be centered around executing the guest experience at Hill Farm by Sagra and entail day-to-day operations of managing the inn reporting into the General Manager. This position is meant for someone who enjoys interacting with people, managing a variety of daily tasks, is excited to bring a new concept to life, and isn’t scared to get their hands dirty.
General Sagra Employee Responsibilities
- Maintain oversight of the reservation system and guest check-ins/check-outs
- Welcome and check-in in guests, including greeting them with a taste of the farm
- Communicate with guests via email & text prior to their arrival
- Respond to guest needs as they arise
- Speak to guests about the agricultural components and happenings at Hill Farm
- Maintain inventory on guest services items and coordinate reorders with GM
- Breakfast set up and service shifts when needed or as scheduled
- Work evening shifts, including managing self-service bar and late check-in’s
- Ensure all programming, classes and farm tours, are running smoothly (at times leading or participating in programming) -- update calendars and assist guests in attending
- Communicate maintenance needs to management
- Communicate check-in & check-out’s with housekeeping
- Ensure all guests and staff feel welcome at Hill Farm
- Participate in staff education surrounding sustainable agriculture practices
- Assist farmer in small farm chores as part of daily side work
Preferred Experience
- Genuinely enjoys connecting with people
- Detail oriented and organized
- 3+ years experience in hospitality or event management
- Can foresee issues before they arise and act to solve them
- Easily overcomes obstacles and problem solves
- Is a true team player with a can-do attitude
- Is willing to do the small tasks -- to jump in to do any task needed on site
- Experience opening new hospitality spaces -- hotels, restaurants etc. is a plus
- Interested in sustainable agriculture and engaging with the educational components

Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $15.00 - $18.00
