TALEA’s brewery and taproom in Williamsburg, Brooklyn opened in March 2021. We are NYC’s only female-founded production brewery. TALEA's mission is to expand the craft beer market by creating easy-to-love beers “perhaps to replace that glass of rosé” (Florence Fabricant, The New York Times). TALEA has expanded with a second taproom in Cobble Hill (opened June 2022) and a pop-up bar at Grand Central for summer 2022.
Job description
The Role
TALEA is looking for an outgoing, hard-working visionary to help bring the company’s mission to life in the taproom. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for exceptional people to join our leadership team and grow with us. The General Manager will oversee operations of the taproom during peak hours, ensuring that guests are satisfied (and become repeat customers!) and that staff are happy, well supported, and motivated. Additionally, the GM will be responsible for creating, implementing, and driving improvements in taproom operations, revenue, procedures, and staffing, as well as managing all FOH team members. Experience managing in fine dining or high volume restaurants is a required – as well as a passion for craft beer and delighting customers.

Responsibilities
- Foster a positive and inclusive working environment by leading, inspiring and developing a diverse and passionate staff
- Effectively manage and motivate staff
- Establish or improve upon existing SOPs and enforce adherence to them
- Oversee inventory management for kitchen, coffee, cleaning; re-order supplies as necessary, as well as outside vendors
- Ensure POS and other systems are in place to support service
- Oversee service during peak periods
- Resolve customers' questions and grievances in a professional manner
- Ensure compliance with state, county and city officials for all health, sanitation, liquor, safety and facility matters
- Maintain a positive outlook and professional behavior under pressure
- Assist in other areas of the business as needed
Requirements
- 3 years of management experience in fine dining, high volume, or equivalent restaurant or taproom preferred
- Strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic and comfortable working for an early-stage company in a rapidly changing environment
- Passionate about craft beer, excited about TALEA’s vision, and obsessed with customer satisfaction
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and retain employees
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined, you take initiative and work autonomously; you bring creative ideas to the table, help raise revenue and see projects through to completion
- Working during peak periods (weekends, evenings, holidays) is required. Seeking to hire immediately.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $75,000 - $100,000
