Job description
- Facilitate staffing, planning, inventory, purchasing and merchandising of Sickles cheese department
- Oversee daily departmental setup, maintenance, and breakdown
- Lead by example and perform all tasks expected of team members; provide all applicable department training and mentoring
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and guide team members in health and safety measures
- Assign and delegate tasks; ensure daily production workflow and operations are fully executed
- Develop and implement merchandising plans and departmental sales to meet the financial objectives of the department
- Monitor team member performance and provide ongoing feedback to train, cross-train, and develop employees
- Prepare, maintain, and track inventory to calculate gross monthly profits and maintain budgeted percentages related to sales, labor controls, and shrink control
- Proactively engage customers to promote products, promotions, and sales
- Answer customer questions about cheese flavors, regions, and accompaniments
- Ensure cheeses and charcuteries are displayed and merchandised in an aesthetically pleasing manner; restock when necessary
- Slice*, weigh, package, and price cheese and charcuterie products
- Safely utilize slicer* to cut meats and cheeses; properly sanitize slicer between uses*
- Set up and break down cheese and charcuterie counter; ensure proper storage, temperatures, and humidity levels
Ideal candidate must be able to:
- Work weekends, holidays, and other prime times of the business
- Operate a commercial deli slicer*
- Lift up to 50lbs. and push pulling carts up to 100lbs
- Stand and walk for 4-6 hours at a time
- Make frequent motions such as standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, lifting, and reaching
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $50,000 - $75,000
