Job description
Eat Well Nashville is seeking full-time line cooks who can cook and manage a kitchen station, assist the kitchen manager, and package meals as necessary. The ideal candidate has experience working in a high volume commercial kitchen and catering experience, possesses a positive attitude, and is a team player. You will be provided on-the-job training, production cooking education, and knowledge as to how to operate a restaurant and commercial equipment.
Sign On Bonus: $500 after 90 days of employment!
ABOUT YOU:
You have experience working in a catering setting or a commercial kitchen as a chef, line cook, prep cook, or have a background in culinary education. You are hungry to learn, hard-working, and someone the team can always depend on. You've become a master at learning to go with the flow and you thrive in an environment where no two days are ever the same.
DAY TO DAY:
- Prepare all menu items consistently with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Working alongside kitchen manager to maintain quality control
- Taking responsibility for a designated kitchen station using proper tools and equipment
- Following recipe cards and production / portion standards
- Preparing food items ahead of time when needed, being sure to not over-prepare
- Packaging meals into containers and labeling
- Dating all food containers and rotating as per Eat Well Nashville standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures
- Returning all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables
- Operating, maintaining, and properly cleaning grill, blast chiller, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, tilt kettle, freezer, walk-in cooler, floors, walls, and ceilings
- Lifting, grasping, and/or carrying goods weighing a maximum of 75 pounds on a continuous schedule
- Following sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen area
- Maintaining a professional and safe work environment for co-workers and guests

We offer direct to consumer delivery to homes, offices and gyms. We also place healthy vending refrigerators stocked with healthy meals around town and also provide corporate catering services.
