Job Title: Account Manager, Marketing & Social Media

Department: Marketing

Reporting to: Director, Marketing Director

FLSA Status: Full time, Non-Exempt


Account Manager

This position requires 3-4 years of experience, with strong social media management and digital content experience, complemented by sharp communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with an eagerness to demonstrate their creativity and strategic thinking.. Account Managers are responsible for executing account deliverables whilst maintaining client satisfaction. A passion for food, restaurants and the hospitality industry, as well as a desire to learn more about marketing, social media and brand strategy, are keys to success in this role. The af&co;. team primarily works remotely, going into the office 1 day/week, occasionally we support our clients in-person for key events and/or activations so San FranciscoBay Area residency is required for this role.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has direct experience managing social media accounts for clients, including community management and content creation
  • Is experienced in Sprout Social (or something similar) and Klear or other influencer marketing platforms
  • Has knowledge of Bay Area influencers and the overall landscape in which they work
  • Is familiar with Facebook Business Manager and social media advertising strategy
  • Is detail-oriented, creative, empathetic, resourceful, tenacious, strategic, an assertive goal-setter and excellent communicator
  • Possesses a keen interest in and passion for food, restaurants, cocktails, travel, and the hospitality arts and culture in general
  • Has excellent writing skills, which can be applied creatively and effectively to anything, including an Instagram post, a case study or client newsletter
  • Is a natural networker and team player with strong social skills who can juggle multiple projects with finesse
  • Is a born story-teller with strong persuasion skills
  • Serves as a knowledgeable mentor to account coordinator(s) and intern(s)
  • Fosters a fun, friendly, open, drama-free and efficient work environment
  • Assists company with new business outreach
  • Brings strategic rigor and a high quality of work to every account or project
  • Displays friendliness, courtesy and attentiveness to client needs
  • Is highly productive and efficient in time management

Role Responsibilities

A successful candidate will be able to:

  • Overall 
      • Collaborate with account teams on the planning and execution of events for af&co;. clients, with oversight by Marketing Director
      • Additional tasks as outlined by the Marketing and Digital Strategy Director when needed
      • This role reports directly to the Marketing and Digital Strategy Director
  • Social Media Management
      • Manage content for digital platforms (social media, blog, website, e-newsletters, etc.) for af&co;. and its clients
      • Directly manage client social media profiles, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and LinkedIn
      • Create and manage social media ad campaigns through Facebook Business Manager
      • Build out monthly content calendars for up to six clients each month
      • Posts social media content using Sprout Social and native platforms where needed
  • Influencer Marketing & Relations
      • Manage influencer campaigns via Klear from start to finish 
      • Engage in influencer outreach on behalf of clients
  • Email Marketing
      • Assist in creating and managing client email marketing campaigns
  • Marketing & Brand 
      • Be a natural born story-teller with strong persuasion skills to convey the brand voice and tone of each client
      • When relevant, manage website build-outs for clients with web developer/designer vendors, including writing site-maps, website copy, creating and managing timelines and deadlines, etc.
      • Oversee and managing professional photo and video shoots on behalf of client by identifying and coordinating with local photographers, creating shot lists, timelines, and reviewing/editing final images
      • Assist in overall digital brand strategy and messaging for all clients
  • Goal Setting and Reporting
      • Works closely with account directors to  determine and track account KPIs 
      • Create quarterly activity reports and present KPIs for each client
      • Measures campaign ROI and utilizes data to make informed strategic or tactical recommendations
  • Content Creation (as needed)
    • Takes onsite iPhone and/or DSLR content on behalf of restaurant and hotel clients for use on social media accounts
    • Create Instagram Reels with keen eye for detail and creative flair by incorporating social media content trends
    • Develop a social media playbook in collaboration with account directors that outlines content look-and-feel and overall social media strategy
    • When relevant advise clients on TikTok/Instagram trends that they should participate in and how to go about doing so
    • Experience with or interest in video capturing and/or editing, though not a requirement

In this role, you will be the central point of communication for six to nine clients, specializing in digital marketing. You will build confidence with the client that strategic solutions, project details, process steps and deliverables are well organized, communicated and managed. Additionally, you will ensure all correspondence, materials, presentations, and proposals seen by prospective and existing clients are error-free, of highest quality, relevant to the client’s business challenges, and reflective of af&co;.’s approach.
