The ideal applicant for this position:
Has a high school diploma.
Has sufficient retail familiarity to know basic retail principles and terminology.
Has experience with:
- Problem solving.
- A point of sales system.
- Technology including MacOS, credit card processors, printers, and internet usage.
- Working among a staff that is team oriented.
- Handling cash.
- Making and maintaining retail displays
Must to be able to stand for many hours in a row, lift up to 35 pounds, go up and down a ladder and be able to sweep, vacuum, and mop.
Must be available for some weekend and some holiday hours.
All Home Goods employees must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
Manage Point of Sales system including but but limited to:
- Complete sales transactions.
- Receive and price deliveries.
- Keep track of inventory and make any necessary adjustments.
- Place Special Orders.
- Process Refunds.
- Use the Master Order list to help the Assistant Manager and Owner place orders.
Be familiar with various technology including using Mac OS, credit card terminals, label printers, and scanners. Be able to effectively handle occasional technology failures including internet outages and point of sales system interruptions.
Receive incoming orders from different carriers, price the orders, and put them on the shelves or in displays.
Process payments from debit cards, credit cards, and cash. Be able to handle cash including making change and counting a drawer.
Engage with customers to provide excellent customer service.
Become familiar and knowledgeable about products.
Restock shelves from storage including items in refrigerators.
Help maintain the cleanliness of the store.
Understand pricing structure and be able to determine prices for items.
Assist with helping design window displays and seasonal merchandising in the store.
Be a willing and supportive team member and maintain a flexible schedule.Compensation this position is : hourly, $15-20/hr Application instructions
