Delish is looking for an enthusiastic freelance writer to produce stories about food culture, news, and trends. Candidates should have a reporting background and at least 2 years of professional experience writing features for a website or magazine. 

 

The role involves original reporting and seeking out new stories and writing features that fit on Delish. Ideal candidates should have a good idea of what kinds of food stories perform well online. They should closely follow the digital food world and be able to write intelligently about it. Writers with strong opinions are encouraged to apply—as are those with extensive food and cooking knowledge. 

 

The contributing writer will be pitching stories on a regular basis as well as fielding assignments from editors. We’re looking for a self-starter who can proactively find stories to cover, use performance of stories to help inform their ideas, and file clean, compelling copy.

 

This is a contractor role. It’s either hybrid in the New York Hearst office or fully remote.
