Farmers Market Coordinator Foglight Farms

  • Date Posted January 24, 2023
  • Location Hillsboro, OR
  • Category Agriculture
  • Job type Full-Time
Company description Located in Hillsboro, OR, Foglight Farms is a growing space for plants, animals, and humans alike. Our team of farmers, artists, and entrepreneurs connected around the shared dream of offering opportunities for growth, healing, and creative expression on the site. As a BIPOC-owned and operated farm, we started out by exploring the vast range of chicken egg colors to showcase diversity in each carton. Our eggs, produce, and baked goods go out to the world through a CSA membership and the PSU Farmers Market. For this upcoming third season, we’ll be focused on eggs and mixed veggies, perennial crops, and small-scale livestock. The farm is currently home to 400 chickens, 4 goats, 3 sheep, 2 geese, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Our site has a mix of cultivated space with orchard and berry fields, pasture, and forest—with great views of Mt. Hood and Jefferson on a clear day. You can find us at foglightfarms.com and @foglightfarms on Instagram. You can also visit Grains of Salt to learn about our other areas of work. Plus, we’ll be hiring other positions this year—descriptions will be posted on our website in February. Job description

We’re looking for someone to support our presence at the PSU Farmers Market on Saturdays. The Coordinator will manage market inventory throughout the week, conduct research on product pricing, track sales data, and lead occasional on-site farm stands for events. As the PSU Market is one of our main CSA share pick-up sites, the Coordinator will be one of the primary team members to interact with CSA members.

The Coordinator is part of our collaborative team of farmers as well, and will assist with weekly farm tasks (livestock care, harvest, cultivation, planting, etc) throughout the season, with flexibility in their weekly schedule to ensure market prep tasks are prioritized and completed.
