Artisan Pastry Baker A&J King Artisan Bakers, LLC

  • Date Posted February 10, 2023
  • Location Salem, MA
  • Category Culinary
  • Job type Full-Time
Company description We are an award-winning artisan bakery specializing in medium-to-high volume, high-quality breakfast pastries such as hand rolled croissants, muffins, scones, cookies, tarts/pies and rustic and classic seasonal desserts, as well as hearth baked breads such as sourdoughs, baguettes, ciabatta, and whole grains.

All of our products are made fresh daily from scratch ingredients - including house-milled whole grains from our own stone mill. We source locally and regionally whenever possible. This includes primarily dairy, produce, and grains. We also offer espresso and lunch options in our café and participate in farmers markets.

We also proudly produce baked goods to a wide variety of customers through our wholesale program providing breads and pastries to top restaurants, cafes, and shops on the North Shore, Boston, and Southern New Hampshire.

Winner of Best of Boston in 2009 and 2012 as well as Best of North Shore every year since 2008.

We want to work with passionate hard-working people who can help us meet the needs of both our customer bases. Any team member who joins our business needs to be able to thrive in a team environment and want to hone their skills. Job description Come join our growing pastry department! This is an exciting time to be part of our production team as we reach new production levels. We have also recently incorporated a mill into production and now are able to produce our own fresh whole grain flours used in both our breads and some pastries.

We prioritize maintaining static, long-term schedules for everyone's sanity - no ever-changing weekly or monthly schedules! Full time production shifts here are five day a week, 8-hour schedule with occasional overtime in the busier season.

This is a combination night baking position and bakery prep work position.
It includes three nights of bake off in a 6pm-2am schedule and two days a week working in the late afternoon (2 pm-10 pm).
Subbing for co-workers is also expected to cover vacations or illness.
Working extra hours during holiday periods is also expected.
Closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Ideally, this position begins training ASAP

This position will start no lower than $19/hour and can start higher based on experience, interview, and try out. This wage per hour is calculated on a combination of a base hourly wage and administration wages that all employees benefit from in their hourly pay every pay check. Please visit this link for more background on this. More information will be provided in the interview as well.
