Digital Food Pantry Network Program Manager

FLSA:

Position Summary:

The Digital Food Pantry Network (DFP Network) is revolutionizing how emergency food pantries are run and how people in need of food are accessing this critical support (learn more here: https://www.metcouncil.org/kosher-food-network). The DFP Network is currently in use at 14 sites and 34 satellites. We are seeking a Digital Food Pantry Network Program Manager who can oversee and support our existing and developing DFP Network as well as implement and help maintain our revamped digital pantry platform. 

The Digital Food Pantry Network Program Manager will be responsible for further refining the DFP Network, including (1) managing the customer success and pantry adoption of the platform, including running helpdesk for supporting pantry managers ensuring members of the pantry network follow best practices, (2) liaising with Met Council’s Salesforce system administrator to provide technical support for pantries and to collect feedback from pantries and clients to improve the new system, and (3) encourage and support the ongoing adoption by additional pantries and satellite sites. 

The Program Manager will also be the point person for training and troubleshooting system related problems across the participating network, aiding and advising on appropriate actions.  This person will be required to present on the DFP Network in public forums and should be able to represent it effectively. 

Principal Responsibilities:

Manage the Digital Food Pantry Program for successful use and adoption by participating agencies by:

  • Interfacing with the Food Program’s Salesforce system administrator to create and implement processes, troubleshoot, and maintain the Digital Food Pantry Platform;
  • Managing DFP Network Customer Success Coordinator;
  • Developing and streamlining the implementation process across the program and customizing for each of the new agencies as they are brought on board;
  • Tracking issues and potential product improvements for further development of the platform;
  • Managing and tracking equipment purchases, disbursements, replacements, repairs, and requests;

The program manager will supervise the user training for the system by:

  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the integrity of the software and materials purchased for the DFP including the software as well as program hardware (i.e. modules, iPads and computers);
  • Developing best practices guides, including program compliance for the network’s DFP sites to be used in conjunction with a user manual, to be created or updated;
  • Coordinating with the Agency Relations team to mitigate general pantry and operations issues as well as general support including pantry compliance, documentation, and meal requirements;
  • Supporting trainings and user development within the DFP network;

This role with also be responsible for DFP system maintenance and reporting by:

  • Working in collaboration with the systems administrator to manage technical onboarding of agency partners;
  • Creating regular reports on the DFP system and network for internal and external stakeholders.

The program manager will also represent the DFP system by:

  • Overseeing the development of relevant assets and materials (ads, emails, flyers, etc.) for DFP; Participating in advocacy for program through outreach, presentations and demonstrations;
  • Ensuring that all DFP communications adhere to appropriate brand messaging and brand identity;
  • Maintaining relations with agencies, attending major events and distributions;
  • Digital Food Pantry Network Manager is responsible for supervising related program staff;
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

Skills and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
  • Customer Success experience (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 and it’s applications
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar e-commerce platforms (preferred)
  • Experience with project management

Special Requirements:

  • Travel to agencies within the five boroughs of New York City

Physical Demands:

  1. Required Constantly:  Walking, sitting, grasping, bending, stooping, squatting, computer input, finger dexterity and coordination of hand, eye and foot
  2. Required Frequently: Standing and climbing stairs; carrying laptop & files (approx. 8-10 lbs.)
  3. Required Occasionally: Reaching above the shoulder, and lifting 5-25 pounds, pushing and pulling

Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000 per year
