We’re a tiny batch, ice cream shop nestled right at the base of the White Mountains in Bethlehem, NH. We’re a small team crafting ice cream from scratch using local milk and cream and locally sourced ingredients from our community inspires the majority of our flavors. We’re a tiny crew running a brand new shop in a beautiful little mountain town. We’re lucky to share Main Street with an independent live music and movie theatre, our beloved coffee shop Maia Papaya and community brewery, Reklis (and we’re right next to Littleton, NH). Our town is growing and our business is looking for someone that’s excited to collaborate and help grow our new venture.
Job description
Super Secret Ice Cream Makers work through the year producing ice cream, pints, novelties, and toppings. On an average day, our ice cream makers are collaborating on a production plan for the day and independently churning out batches of ice cream, while working to music or podcasts and getting early previews and tastes of delicious bites before we launch flavors. Ice cream makers work directly with our local farmers and producers to find exciting ingredients for our ice cream and to support as many local makers as we can. This role is rewarding, repetitive and above all fun!

TYPE: FULL TIME, YEAR ROUND - 40-50/HRS WEEK
COMPENSATION

Starting Pay: $15/hour (+tips)

Pooled Tips based on % of hours worked ($6.50/avg per hour)

*We will guarantee weekly paycheck rate is at $18/hr (substantial room for growth)

SCHEDULE

Negotiable, an ideal candidate can work 50 hrs/wk in the Summer

Flexible winter scheduling, can work between 20-40 hrs/wk and/or take off time for vacation (up to 1 month) *Summers are our busiest time and we cannot guarantee time-off

We’re looking for someone who: Thrives when they’re constantly busy! There isn’t a slow moment in our kitchen. You enjoy getting into a groove, working quickly but efficiently. You love the thrill of figuring out how to work smarter not harder and get excited to tackle big piles of dishes. We want someone who is curious, enjoys learning and can handle feedback as we all work together to make the best ice cream.
Prior experience isn’t necessary. If you have the right attitude and drive, we can train anyone to be an excellent ice cream maker. We are looking for someone who intends to commit for at least one full-year
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO QUALIFY?

Be 18 years old or older

Enjoy Multitasking

Passion for food, cooking, teamwork, and quality.

Previous professional kitchen experience or culinary school is a plus but not required.

Excited about working with a new business & building out efficient systems

Ability to measure ingredients accurately and perform basic kitchen math

Ability to work independently while also being a dedicated and collaborative team player

Dedication to cleanliness and organization

Great communication skills and a professional, friendly attitude

Willingness to learn and follow instructions with precision as well as give great attention to detail

Ability to stand eight hours, lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and take care of yourself during the day (drinking enough water, breaking for snacks, etc.)

Ability to plan ahead & set up efficient production schedules

Keep up to date on inventory tracking & ordering of supplies

Interest in growing into a bigger role ( head ice cream maker!)
