At the heart of the store is our whole animal meat counter focusing on the preservation of meat through curing and smoking. Additionally, the market receives seafood native to New England waters, twice per week. The marketplace also offers a thoughtful selection of natural wine and craft beer.  Seasonal produce, local dairy and artisan cheese further connect the marketplace to the region. A plentiful stock of groceries from daily necessity to epicurean novelties are a prominent area of growth and interest for residents and visitors.

We are looking for someone to join our team as a full time crew member. Yes, we’re looking for someone to help out on the register, ringing up customers, but we’re not just looking for a cashier. This is a core staff position, for someone who can be comfortable learning to wear a few different hats around the store, working with the team to help our store run smoothly. 

This position is for someone who is outgoing, engaging, and truly invested in the products and services that we offer: an ambassador. It’s a small town - you will be representing us to not just visitors, but our close friends and community members, and we do our very best to leave a good impression. Our business is unique, and our team is small, so each person working with us makes up an essential part of who we are.

In more concrete terms, here are some of the responsibilities of this role:

• Ringing out customers (and delivering food if in the cafe) 
• Providing instructions and information on our goods for customers
• Restocking produce, beverages, and other dry goods
• Maintaining a clean and organized environment

We expect anyone filling this role to be professional, clean, communicative, and willing to learn. Our team members take care in what they do, from small interactions to the cleanliness of the station, and that standard is held at a high level. 

Our store is filled with everything from everyday goods to niche specialty items, and we have a kitchen with a similar range. There are plenty of opportunities to learn, and we seek to encourage the interest of our team - we’ll happily assist you in your education. Some categories that we can provide assistance in are: 

• Craft beer and fine wine
• Artisanal cheese, cured meats, chocolate, etc. 
• Whole animal butchering
• Worldly cuisine

More hours are available for this position if desired, but we are looking for someone to be in-store 24-40 hours a week.
