Laughing Earth is a diversified small farm in Brunswick, NY whose mission is to feed the bellies and minds of our local community, both raising food in an ecologically-minded way and teaching our farm members and consumers about the true costs and benefits of food production. On our 175-acre conserved farm, we raise certified organic vegetables for a 130-family Farm Share program and our on-farm store, as well as rotationally pasture a variety of livestock to sell the meat and eggs both on the farm and at the local farmers’ market.

Laughing Earth is seeking a Livestock Assistant for the 2023 season, April through November. 15-40 hours per week, with flexible days and hours for the right candidate. The ideal candidate would possess a strong attention to detail, and an ability to learn on their feet. The Livestock Assistant’s duties would consist of daily feeding, watering, and maintenance of meat chickens, egg chickens, pigs, cattle, turkeys, and sheep. The Livestock Assistant would also be expected to assist with the poultry slaughter, egg washing and packing, and occasionally meat cutting and sausage making in our commercial kitchen.
