Contra Costa Certified Farmers Markets were established in 1982, and provide farmers’ markets in the communities of Walnut Creek and Orinda. We are a 501(c)5 not for profit organization.
The mission of Contra Costa Certified Farmers’ Markets is to support the development of local sustainable farming by cultivating vibrant farmer’s markets. Our markets serve as community gathering places; celebrating local farmers, food producers and artisans. Fresh picked produce is made accessible with events and educational outreach to enhance and promote the quality of a healthy lifestyle and conscientious food choices.
Job description
Market manager is responsible for all aspects of the Orinda market operation and will be the main contact for customers, vendors, invited participants, health inspectors, police, city representatives, sponsors, and more! Responsibilities include nurturing vendor relationships, getting to know customers and assessing their needs, setup and tear-down, operating the SNAP program, answering customer/vendor questions, and serving a simple coffee set up (no espresso). It is a physically demanding job which requires setting up tents, tables and other equipment. It is also incredibly rewarding, fun and supports your healthy lifestyle!
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
