Lead Edible GardenerWe are an edible landscape design, installation and maintenance company providing organic care to our clients throughout the greater SF Bay Area. The gardeners will work both as a part of a small team and independently, to provide organic care and maintain the health and beauty of integrated edible and ornamental landscapes.Job responsibilities and duties: Organic care of client vegetable gardens, fruit trees, perennial edibles including: harvesting, succession planting, crop planning and management, organic pest control, organic fertilization, skilled aesthetic pruning, deadheading, troubleshooting and repair of drip irrigation systems, garden clean up using a rake and electric-blower, weeding, safe loading and driving of truck.Needed for 2 - 5 days per week. Soft start moving into regular schedule in April.Pay rate is $22-35 per hour, depending on experience.Qualifications/Skills/Attributes:-Edible garden care/Veggie farming experience ideally 2+ years.-Ornamental growing experience a plus, but not required.-Bee keeping/tending experience a plus and can lend to opportunities for higher pay rate.- Applicants will need a valid CA driver's license, clean DMV record, a working cell phone, and appropriate work attire- Reliable, motivated, hard working, on time, efficient- Can work independently and as part of a small team of 2-3 gardeners-Detail orientated and able to follow directions-Good communication skills and positive attitude-Willingness to learn and share knowledge-Maintain great client relations- Love growing food and being outside all day... rain or shine!- Be physically fit- Be able to safely lift and carry heavy or awkward loads up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks- Have a basic familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment- A vehicle you can use to transport yourself as well as plants and tools to job sites (we have company trucks for carrying garden materials but occasionally we have more people going out than trucks available). We provide mileage reimbursement.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $22.00 - $35.00
