Job description
The New Hampshire Food Bank is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Cooking Matters Coordinator. The Cooking Matters Coordinator assumes responsibility for the coordination of the Cooking Matters NH Program, a national cooking-based nutrition education program of Share Our Strength. Responsibilities include the coordination of programming, volunteers, reporting to New Hampshire Food Bank Nutrition Programs Manager and Share Our Strength National Cooking Matters program, outreach with partner agencies and course series.

Responsibilities
• Help to develop the strategic vision and implementation for Cooking Matters in the state of New Hampshire.
• Set competitive annual goals and work to motivate staff and partners to reach individual projections.
• Teach healthy cooking, nutrition and food budgeting to low-income people who are most at risk of hunger and malnutrition.
• Partner with culinary educators, nutrition educators and agency/site managers to coordinate and facilitate Cooking Matters classes.
• Coordinate all aspects of partnering agency relations.
• Coordinate and manage the Cooking Matters Program in accordance with stated national program implementation guidelines.
• Prepare reports as required and monitor data collected to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Take lead on completing and submitting database updates and inventory documents in a timely manner.
• Monitor program expenditures according to budget.
• Maintain an updated program calendar with course schedule, volunteer trainings and orientations and other program events.
• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university; major study in nutrition, public health, culinary or similar preferred
• 2 years of experience with special events planning, community relations, volunteer management and training, or similar
• Ability to manage volunteers and work independently and with diverse populations; including chefs, social workers, donors and low-income persons
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computers and various software packages, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
• Ability for some night and weekend work
• Experience with US Dietary Guidelines MyPlate and working with low income audiences
• Excellent organization skills, attention to detail; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
