Job description
My award-winning specialty food client is growing quickly and ready for their first full-time Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate will not only have a strong background building specialty food brands with modern social media marketing strategies, but they’ll also be comfortable developing partnerships to inspire purchases in retail outlets around the country.

Marketing Manager's Responsibilities
- Branding: communicate a consistent brand message to our target market(s) to tell the company story and engage new fans
- Digital Marketing: develop and share brand-appropriate content (social media and email) according to the team’s existing brand guidelines; you'll be comfortable reporting and have a strong understanding of analytics
- Community Relations: help the team identify consumer events, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities that enhance the brand’s reach and improve company image
- Partnerships: actively collaborate with complementary brands on promotions and shared communications initiatives
- Events: organize and attend industry trade shows (B2B) and occasional consumer-centric events (B2C) to promote the company
- Travel: although travel is a small portion of the role (10% or less), the candidate will occasionally be required to attend events, trainings, and/or team meetings in person
- Media Relations: reach out to media outlets with product/company news to create awareness
- Team Collaboration: regularly work with the internal executive team and outside freelance consultants, participating in sales and marketing meetings and providing timely updates
Marketing Manager's Qualifications
- 4+ years in a similar marketing position at a specialty food brand, 7+ years even better
- 3+ year track record with hands-on social media management and content creation on two or more social channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
- Proven ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and multi-task
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to successfully complete tasks and represent the company in a professional manner
- Able to thrive in a growing, entrepreneurial company
- Comfort with technology, e-commerce tools, analytics, modern project management, and communication software (Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Shopify, CMS, email management tools, etc.
- Passion for (and knowledge or) the specialty food world including but not limited to artisan cheese, small batch jams/jellies/preserves, craft chocolate and confections, handmade charcuterie, etc.
