Job description
The server/bartender is an hourly team member who delivers thorough and thoughtful hospitality and service in a variety of environments. They nurture the positive team and guest interactions by embodying our core family values of hospitality, excellence, integrity and entrepreneurial spirit, which lead to exceeding client expectations. A server/bartender must have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and a knowledgeable passion for food and beverage service. They must also have the ability to interact with staff, clients and other stakeholders in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, efficient and reliable is crucial to this role. The ideal candidate exudes a high level of professionalism and hospitality expertise at all times.
- Possess an understanding of proper steps of service and consistently execute them with efficiency and grace, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs
- Ensure constant communication with event captains, staff members, management and the kitchen during service while going through proper channels
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and proper appearance throughout all areas of event venues
- Reliably complete all assigned setup and breakdown tasks
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Department of Health (DOH) and USE’s health and safety standards
- Demonstrate a desire to learn more about the event and work as a team
- Demonstrate basic guest recognition skills—can identify The Club leadership, key clients and event hosts
- Show understanding of all service styles (ex: reception, buffet, seated, coat check)
- Demonstrate appropriate tableside and guest interaction manner
- Works effectively and safely with team members to complete setup and break down tasks and service
- Effectively communicate menu contents to guests, including allergens
- Command basic knowledge of the beverage program including cocktails and house wines
- Commands basic understanding of event documents: including BEOs, rental lists, Steps of Service, order forms
- Catering/bartender/fine-dining experience is preferred; service and hospitality-oriented attitude a must
- TIPS Certification (preferred)
- Food Handler’s Certificate (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and interest in learning new skills
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 40 pounds in all directions
- The capability of maintaining a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods
- Full availability
- Ability to work in all season conditions in an outdoors environment
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $15.00 - $18.00
