Job description
The Hospitality Manager is a crucial member of the Ebbio staff, working to oversee other staff members and acting as primary point of contact with retreat/agriturismo guests.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Event and retreat management.
- Reception & registration of guests; introduction & implementation of house rules.
- Assisting retreat leaders and guests in schedule development & booking transportation, restaurants, massages, wine tastings, etc.
- Responding to hospitality inquiries and planning for future seasons.
- Weekly shopping & errands (groceries, hardware store, etc.).
- Assisting in planning weekly menus and communicating & accommodating dietary restrictions; assisting in daily meal service (table setting & clearing).
- Special activity planning & implementation: farm tours, cooking classes, etc.
- Marketing efforts (social media, newsletter, etc.).
- Continuing Ebbio cookbook project.
- Manage inventory of Ebbio products and selling in “Ebbio market”.
- Assisting in seasonal agricultural needs (harvest such as figs, grapes, olives, etc.)
Required Knowledge & Abilities
- Proficiency in spoken and written English required (if not native speaker).
- Proficiency in spoken and written Italian required (if not native speaker).
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize needs, and think on your feet.
- Flexibility to take on tasks and roles that are needed on any given day (and change daily).
- Strong communicator who enjoys working with new people from different backgrounds.
- Experience in hospitality management, customer service, business marketing & administration, and client expansion.
- Knowledge of Italian agriculture, cuisine, history, etc.
- Must be comfortable working in a female-run business environment.
- Must be comfortable working flexible hours depending on client and farm needs.
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle (if using Ebbio vehicle instead of your own).
Compensation & Logistics
- EU work authorization is REQUIRED. No Visa sponsorship available.
- Pay commensurate with experience.
- Seasonal or annual contract dependent on availability & experience.
- Vegetarian meals provided (brunch & dinner).
- Lodging onsite may or may not be included in compensation package.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
