Job description
An opportunity to learn from a 2nd generation Beekeeper with 50 + years of beekeeping experience and wisdom. Perfect position for anyone interested in learning how to keep bees. We are looking for someone with the physical strength and endurance to be able to lift 50-80lbs hive boxes filled with honey.
We are looking for a beekeeper's assistant to help with the following farm activities:
-Hive Management - Visiting the apiaries and helping the beekeeper check on the status and health of each hive as well as the harvesting of honey.
-Honey Extraction - Collecting honey from the hives and extracting it at our farm.
-Honey Packing- After the honey is collected we pack, label, and box it at our farm.
Timing - The busy time of year for us and when we have the most work hours to offer is April - September but we will still have some work hours available during the off season for honey packing and some hive management.
We are willing to give a gas compensation for anyone driving further than 20 miles from the farm.
