Alf Bakery is opening in Chelsea Market! We are an artisanal, innovative bakery with a modern take on French classic pastries. Located in the lower level of Chelsea Market, ALF Bakery offers freshly baked breads, viennoiserie, pastries, babka, and sandwiches.
ALF Bakery is lead by Chef Amadou Ly, previously a Pastry Chef and Chocolatier at a number of respected NYC kitchens and an Artisanal Baker under Roger Gural at the renowned Arcade Bakery. Amadou has been featured in The New York Times for his expertise in the lamination process, among other major food publications.

Job description
Chef Amadou Ly is currently looking for hard-working, punctual, self-starters, to join as experienced Lead Bakers. The positions are full time and offer significant opportunities for growth. Applicants should be punctual, responsible, and eager to learn to be successful in these dynamic positions. Morning and evening positions are available.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Mixing and laminating dough
- Skillfully operate commercial ovens, mixers, and other equipment
- Lead baking production and day to day operation
- Ensure product is produced at the highest of quality and meet Alf standards
- Retain knowledge of savory bakery items
- Train and coach Assistant Bakers
- Be a team player with a sense of urgency
- Keep work area clean, organized and stocked
- Responsible for the cleanliness of all equipment
- Other related responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of a 2+ year of relevant baking experience
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Clean and neat with great attention to detail
- Great communicator
- Ability to be on one's feet for an extended period of time
- Must be punctual, reliable, and *able to work early mornings and weekends*
- WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS A MUST
- Must be open and willing to learn

Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $25.00 - $27.00
