Rainy Day Dinner Club is an after-school program for elementary and middle school students in the Seattle and Greater Eastside neighborhoods. In our cooking classes, kids learn basic cooking skills while making dinner for their family!
Our Mission is to cultivate enthusiasm for cooking and build a positive culture around family meals! We use the perspective of food, cooking, and nutrition to learn about geography, math, science, and culture, while helping kids develop a life-long love of fresh ingredients and vegetables.
Job description Rainy Day Dinner Club is looking for an enthusiastic part-time Summer Camp Assistant for Seattle locations. Rainy Day Summer Camp offers week-long 3-hour and all-day cooking camps with a focus on cooking and baking. We also offer a new Zoo Camp!- Looking for someone who is organized and able to follow and supervise a camp schedule but can be creative and flexible when needed.
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment with daily class goals.
- Experience working 8-12 kids at time is very helpful. (ages 6 – 12)
- Experience taking photos and marketing on social media
Job duties:
- Lifting, moving, and rearranging class supplies, tables, and chairs for class.
- Organizing and leading games and activities during breaks.
- Supervise parent drop-off and pick-up. Contacting parents if needed.
- Support other instructors when needed.
- Administer basic first aid as needed.
- Relieve other staff for breaks.
- Take photos of students and various marketing during down time.
- Pack up equipment/tools, clean, sweep, and return the room furniture to the way it was.
Shifts: We’re currently hiring 2-3 staff for weekly summer camps late June to mid-August. Training hours can begin as early as May if available.
- Zoo Camp: 8:30am - 1pm
- Cooking/Baking Camps: 11:30am – 5pm
- Or a full shift 8:30pm - 4:30pm
- Rainy Day Dinner Club complies with Seattle’s Paid Sick and Safe Time requirements.
- Job Type: Part-time
- Salary: $18.69 – $20.69/hrs.
Qualifications:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a Washington State school and FBI fingerprinting background checks.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications (60 days of hire)
- Previous experience working with a group of elementary age children in a summer camp, tutoring, after school care, volunteering, etc.
- A fun and exuberant attitude towards working with kids.
- A punctual and professional attitude
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
