Job description

We are seeking a personable, communicative, and passionate person to help us run our multi-week on-farm market. The Farmstand Assistant will help another team member load and set up for the on-site Market. During market hours the Farmstand assistant will run a register alongside another team member, restock the store as needed, and perform various other farm tasks such as harvesting herbs, cultivating the herb garden, maintaining a clean store, suggesting and implementing improvements to our marketing and signage at the store and along our road.

Compensation:

-$15/hr plus veggies.

-A 15% discount on meat, eggs, mushrooms and other products sold at our store.

-Opportunity for raises based on performance and tenure.

-PTO, sick leave

Schedule (PT):

-2-4 days/week (1 weekend day is required) from 8:00am - 4:00pm.

-Must be able to commit from May/June through August. Opportunity to work early and later in the season is also available.

-Vacation is afforded by seniority and tenure, but we are understanding and flexible as long as there is respectful foresight and communication.

Requirements:

-Ability to lift and carry 50lbs repeatedly, and stand for up to 5 hours

-Comfort and ability to communicate the farm’s mission and explain our products to customers in a clear and concise manner

-Interest in farming/agriculture, preferably Organic and regenerative practices

-Punctuality

-Ability to work alone for short periods and with a team for extended periods
