We are seeking a talented, proactive, and passionate leader to head our Marketing, Communications, and Outreach efforts. Someone energized by connecting with people, whether teaming up with departments to collaborate or support the latest great idea, or working with local values-aligned organizations on partnerships for meaningful positive impact. Someone who has an optimistic outlook and is passionate about bettering our world through service to our community. Someone who is mission driven and believes that a little cooperative grocery store can embody business as a force for common good and become a catalyst for lasting positive change, for all.

Our amazing little store, founded in 1979, has been growing quickly, nearly 80% growth over the past five years, and we have our sights set on even greater heights. We currently have opportunities to immerse yourself in the fundamentals of running a business through our Open Book Management program, or learn the intricacies of natural and local food movement, or grow strong connections with our amazing local community. But, beyond current, with the heights we're reaching for, the sky's the limit to where our work might lead, personally for you, and together.

Working as our Communications Coordinator you will have spacious freedom to dream big, plan your strategy, and test your ideas, with the peace of mind that your leaders and teammates understand that we either win or learn. We like to be transparent that, as a small business, we're limited in what we can offer for benefits at this time, although we do our very best, and as we grow we have plans to offer much more. Currently, we offer everyone on our team:

• 20% discount off everything in the store
• Special Orders at 5% above cost (to cover shipping), where team members can order full cases from our distributors at an incredibly low price.
• Paid Time Off - After 90 days of working with us, you will start to accrue paid time off.

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, on site at our San Luis Obispo storefront, and available immediately!

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $18.00 - $23.00
