DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Georgia Organics seeks a senior-level professional to provide operations leadership across the organization. Georgia Organics is a growing organization with a solid foundation of operational policy, systems and staffing. This position will further develop appropriate organizational systems, while providing management support on mission critical initiatives including internal office leadership, financial quality control, human resource management, leadership team development, communications, technology and fundraising. This position reports to the President & CEO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Management & Administration
- Provide for all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence and ensure best practices
- Ensure coordination and effectiveness of communications, development, office administration and financial functions of the organization.
- Develop, update and manage the policies and procedures of the organization.
- Oversee and foster the development of information technology solutions.
- Further develop organizational culture through staff meetings, retreats, internal office camaraderie, training and a healthy work environment.
- Provide strategic vision for the future of the operational infrastructure
Leadership & Strategy
- Work in partnership with the leadership team, staff and Board of Directors to create strategic plans and implement new processes and approaches to achieve the plan.
- Communicate and align with the President & CEO, managers and directors to establish and implement overall organizational policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the development of annual goals and performance measurements with the staff that align with Georgia Organics strategic objectives.
- Pursue team goals that advance racial equity and a commitment to become an anti-racist organization.
- Provide support for board management and committee work including agendas, finances and operational reports and support meeting coordination and follow up.
- Represent the organization externally to advance our mission through fundraising, writing, public speaking and other communications strategies
Human Resource Management
- Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates individual performance and progress against goals for the organization.
- Oversee human resources and consult on hiring, recruitment, and performance reviews.
- Oversee and maintain consultant contracts and fiscal management agreements.
- Enforce personnel policies and provide guidance on personnel matters as they arise.
- Conduct annual wage-compensation assessments.
- Develop staff recruitment, training and retention strategies.
Financial Quality Control
- Manage financial processes, reporting and oversight
- Lead Georgia Organics annual accounting audit.
- Orchestrate the annual budget development process with all team members.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors Treasurer on quarterly financial reports
- Provide team members with weekly grant income and expense allocations reports
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience with strategic responsibilities.
- Experience managing personnel, developing talent and leading high performing teams.
- Track record delivering superior results and earned respect in leadership roles.
- Experience in budgeting, finance, risk assessment, accounting oversight and controls.
- Success in executing multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities.
- A systems thinker operating with organizational excellence in mind for all matters.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external partners.
- Proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humor.
- Emphasis on relationship building with board, staff, members and donors.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in organizational settings.
- Possesses a metric mindset while maintaining a creative spark.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 - $80,000 and includes generous benefits, a stimulating work environment, and delicious culinary experiences. Benefits include health insurance (currently 100 percent premium employer-paid), retirement investment options in a 403(b) tax-deferred account, and three weeks of paid time off in the first year plus holidays.
