Job description
CLASSES, CAMPS, & EVENTS
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for chefs of all ages and levels. Provide an abundance of joy, support, and inspiration to our chefs to create an engaging experience in the kitchen.
- Effectively teach kids and adults how to cook, while striving to create a fun and dynamic experience. Maintain control of the classroom through managing students and time effectively and efficiently.
- Smoothly execute provided recipes in class to FrogLegs standards.
- Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained at all times. Follows food safety standards when cooking, serving, and storing food.
- Positively engage with parents and families to make it a well-rounded experience for all.
- Models FrogLegs guiding principles and ensures all FrogLegs policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are maintained and consistently followed.
- Adapt to students’ or classroom needs. Recognizing each student and class may require a tailored experience.
- Support the training and development of new team members to grow a “hoppy” team that is knowledgeable, capable, and exhibits FrogLegs guiding principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicates effectively, in a timely manner internally and externally.
- Arrive on time for assigned shifts, being physically and mentally present during the shifts.
- Ability to maintain energy during prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen environment. Move about the kitchen, coaching and directing fellow team members and/or students.
- Ability to lift and/or move kitchen equipment and ingredients weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Take great pride in work, carry a passion for teaching, baking, cooking, and sharing these passions with others.
- Enthusiastic, can-do attitude, solution-oriented, and function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
- Accountable, reliable, patient, and flexible with self, students, and team.
- A team player, able to work quickly and efficiently.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-2 years experience in a kitchen setting and/or teaching setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
- Demonstrated successful teaching and training experience
- Valid Washington Food Handlers’ Permit
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $23-$27 per hour, depending on experience
