Job description
We are looking for someone who has experience with both serving and bartending to be part of the team that re-opens the Oystercatcher! The Oystercatcher is a long standing celebrated establishment in Coupeville that will be commemorating its 25th year this Fall. The restaurant has entrenched itself as a place where one can find excellent food and warm, hospitable service and we are dedicated to continuing that legacy. The ideal candidate for this job will not only be skilled at the technical aspect of service but will believe in and have passion for the magic of warm and gracious hospitality. Our management style is supportive and collaborative and we believe in team work above all else.
The base pay is minimum wage however this is a tipped position and we will be operating as a pooled house. We are confident our team will be well compensated. This is a small restaurant and we are hoping to build a tight knit team without the need for support staff outside of the MOD but we will reassess as needed. It is of utmost importance to us to have a respectful and kind work environment in which everyone feels safe and free to have fun at work! We all spend a lot of time at our job and we believe work should be something that nurtures us and brings us joy as well as a healthy paycheck. We will be open Thursdays-Mondays for a limited happy hour and dinner service.
The responsibilities and requirements for this role will include:
- Greeting guests, taking orders and correctly ringing in and charging for those orders
- Running food, bussing and re-setting tables, occasionally seating guests and answering the phone if needed
- Servers will be required to make their own cocktails
- Maintaining knowledge of all menus including cooking techniques and integral knowledge of potential allergens
- Wine knowledge is a major plus
- Must be 21 or over
- Must be dedicated to team work and come to work with a friendly attitude and willingness to build one another up.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
