The ideal candidates will have in depth knowledge of the menu, familiarity with traditional cocktails and spirits, strong time management skills and a commitment to delivering quality customer service. Job description
In search of an experienced Chef to open and execute the reopening of a Southampton Village restaurant on the East-End of Long Island. A Historical and Iconic institution in the high trafficked village will be opening under new ownership and new renovations. Looking for the right person to carry out the opening and continuation of the new restaurant.
Candidate Requirements:
. 5 years minimum working in a restaurant kitchen setting. Experience in opening a new establishment and the duties that come with a new kitchen/team
. Experience in Scheduling and managing a staff of 10+ employees
. Knowledge of managing inventory, ordering and receiving and costing
. Ability to lead a team in a fast paced/ high volume kitchen while keeping quality and execution as the priority
. Ordering and management of some equipment and smallwares for opening
. Knowledge in utilizing seasonal produce and working with Local vendors. Experience in creating specials using seasonal and local ingredients.
. Ability to maintain a hygienic kitchen, quality control and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
. Suffolk County Food Handlers Certificate needed or ability to obtain quickly.
. Understanding of the East End Clientele and Seasonal Communities
. Menu design
Compensation:
Year round salary based on experience and commitment. This is an amazing opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to reopen a 40+ old staple of the Hamptons community with a new kitchen and menu. Opening for the Summer Season the individual will be expected to work 6 days a week or 60 hours from May through September.
