Location: Remote/Hybrid (Based in Greater Boston/Area) Massachusetts
Reports to: David Eisenberg, Executive Director
FT/PT: Full Time (35 hours)
Compensation: Compensation $85K. Benefits-eligible.

The Teaching Kitchen Collaborative (TKC) is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to designing and promoting the expansion and adoption of teaching kitchens, combined with evidence-based curricula that integrate nutrition education, hands-on cooking instruction, mindfulness training, and exercise into an integrated lifestyle management program and approach. The TKC serves as a connector, convener, integrator, validator, and amplifier of work done by a diverse community of medical schools, hospitals, universities, corporations, and community organizations with teaching kitchens and is at the cutting edge of the Food as Medicine movement.
We are looking for a Director of Operations to organize and oversee the daily operations of the TKC. This individual will ensure that the TKC is well-run and productive by managing its procedures and coaching/choreographing its people. You will be the bridge between the Executive Director and the TKC’s onsite and remote staff and contractors.
The role:
- Oversee the daily operations of the TKC to implement strategic goals set by the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of the TKC to ensure smooth progress.
- Provide coordination for the Research, Advancement, Education and Membership team leads and serve as a liaison to the TKC’s Advisory Board. Coordinate administrative and management tasks of the organization.
- Assist the Executive Director in evaluating overall operational performance and business procedures by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics, suggesting and applying improvements.
- Oversee and review financial information and adjust operational budgets to stay within budget. Work with the financial accountants and auditor to maintain all relevant financial data and records consistent with established regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Advancement on activities related to fundraising strategies, sponsorships, stewardship, and revenue generation.
- Work with the Membership Lead to provide logistics and oversight for convenings, in person or virtual meetings, and conferences including contracts with external partners.
- Support the Executive Director with the planning and execution of quarterly Board of Directors meetings, and provide agendas, financial reports, and supporting documents.
- Oversee any HR functions, including working with the Executive Director on goal setting, performance management, and future hiring and onboarding.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Proven experience as Director of Operations of a non-profit organization or equivalent position with at least 3 years of experience in a non-profit environment.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities, including flexibility and comfort working in a hybrid environment. Work with passion, idealism, integrity, and optimism.
- Outstanding communication, including strong writing skills and people skills; ability to be proactive and anticipate needs. Project management is essential.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Prior experience with onboarding of personnel, drafting of contracts, and drafting of budgets for new initiatives.
- Familiarity with cloud-based and various business software as well as platforms such as Asana, Zoom, Slack, Gusto, Bill.com, and others. Ability to work with both computer-savvy and less technically advanced staff.
- Knowledge or experience in hospitality, conference, and/or event planning helpful
- BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field.
