This job is not like most food service positions; we are a private cafe inside of the Chris King warehouse. We serve breakfast and lunch daily to the employees Monday-Friday and host occasional events. The kitchen is open and the dishwasher/prep cook is the front facing position, where you will not only be cooking, but will also be expected to maintain positive interactions with guests. You may be expected to step in for the chef periodically as needed. 

Breakdown of roles: 

Dishwashing/cleaning: 45% 
Keep up on dishes from cafe and kitchen, know how to use and clean all kitchen equipment, sweep and mop dish area

Food prep: 45% 
Daily prep and execution of rotating variety of pastries and smoothies, keep up on station inventory (granola, croutons, etc), sandwich and salad prep, making lunches to order, assist chef with other prep as needed

Other: 10%
Be able to use point of sale system, act as cashier during meal service, restock cafe supplies, restock vending machines, maintain cleanliness of common areas, keep up on cafe inventory/dry goods, fill in for chef as/if needed, adhere to company’s environmental and social philosophy values

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 1 year preparing and cooking food in a restaurant environment

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED:

• Current Oregon Food Handlers card

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hr
