Company description Yellow Barn, an international center for chamber music based in Putney, Vermont, realizes music’s fundamental purpose, and inherent ability, to communicate in ways that defy definition and move us without explanation. Our musicians make the most of an environment conducive to personal conversation, musical and otherwise, that happens on common ground. By giving people the experience of listening to chamber music in a shared space, Yellow Barn opens up the unique possibilities of what music can do to unite us.
 

For over 50 years our core program has been our annual summer festival for professional musicians ranging from those who are in the earliest stages of their careers to artists who are among the most renowned musicians of our time.

Job description Yellow Barn seeks an experienced and passionate chef for the duration of its residential music festival (June 10-August 6). Our chefs, who are appreciated and embraced as Yellow Barn family, prepare three meals a day for our international and multi-generational community of approximately 70 musicians. Our chefs manage food orders and dishwashers, and communicate daily with Yellow Barn staff to make sure that everyone is having the best possible experience, including our chefs!

50 years ago, our founder once said that there are three components to Yellow Barn: Music, Food, and Love. There is no question that good food remains one of the most valued aspects of the festival.
