Company description Tangleroot Farm is a 2-acre market garden in the Adirondack Park in Upstate New York. Near the shores of Lake Champlain we grow a large diversity of Certified Organic produce for local restaurants, grocery stores and a growing Door-to-door CSA. FARMER

Responsibilities include but are not limited to vegetable seeding, planting, trellising/pruning, cultivating, harvesting, washing/cleaning, packing and delivery. Other tasks will include bed preparation, field work, irrigation set up, operation and maintenance, special projects, greenhouse and high tunnel construction and maintenance. In short: a little bit of everything. Great communication skills are a must, as well as a willingness to work in groups or alone when necessary.

Time commitment: The farm crew will be between 3 and 6 people depending on the season. We work 40 hour weeks from 8am-4:30pm M-F. We don’t work evenings or weekends because we should all have lives outside the farm! Start times may vary due to weather or delivery needs but 40hrs will stick.

The season for farmhands will run from May through October with the potential for part time work until the end of the year.

 

 Compensation: 

-$16/hr or more depending on experience and responsibilities taken on. 

-CSA share for the time you’re working at the farm

-Bonuses dependent on sales goals reached

 

Experience in manual labor is a must. Experience on a farm is a big plus. Housing is not provided but assistance in finding housing nearby can be provided.
