We wish to act as a home base for daily adventures in the Catskills wilderness during all seasons. Our restaurant menu is highly seasonal, and products are sourced from within an hour's radius. Our service and kitchen teams are small, and the work is artistic and collaborative. Work-life balance is paramount for us, and we prioritize time outdoors connecting with nature in our onsite gardens and 168 acres of woodland.
Job description
The Deer Mountain Inn is located in the hills above Tannersville, NY situated on 168 wooded acres offering stunning views of the Catskill mountains and access to year-round outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and camping. We are a small 6-room Inn with 4 petite cabins a 60-seat restaurant offering a seasonal menu comprised of locally and consciously sourced products. Breakfast is served 7 days per week for Inn guests and the restaurant operates Wednesday-Sunday 5pm-9pm. Optional housing is provided across the street from the Inn in a 6 bedroom mansion with an extensive outdoor patio.We are searching for a cook who is eager to live in the mountains and cook from the land. The position can be on a full time or seasonal basis and hours are in the evening. The compensation is hourly, with the pay rate based on experience and skill set. The pay is highly competitive and is further bolstered by tip sharing during events.Experience is preferred and an eagerness to learn is required.
