Summary:
The Packaging Manager is responsible to directly supervise daily packaging operations, manage employees and quality/accuracy of product, maintain and troubleshoot packaging machines and equipment.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for packaging special, wholesale and retail orders.
- Responsible for schedules and training of all Packaging staff members.
- Oversees that all packaging and stocking equipment is functioning properly.
- Prepare final reports and review all complete filling records for accuracy and compliance prior to QA submission
- Ensures that quality and demands are met.
- Records daily inventory and shortages on outgoing orders.
- Regulates proper temperature for foods and shipping coolers.
- Double checks the printed labels.
- Ensures proper sealing of food and box to stock or go out.
- Regularly meets with supervisors to assess and address productivity and quality issues as they arise on the production floor.
- Coordinates with the food packaging sales managers to ensure they meet the production quota and quality levels as promised to clients.
- Manages the effective cleaning and maintenance of the equipment used in the Packaging Department.
- Ensures a safe work environment by emphasizing safety training and safe actions.
- Recommends, implements and with partnership from Human Resources enforces company policies and procedures.
- Strive for a well-trained and motivated staff through excellent leadership and communication skills. Coordinate with Production Managers and Supervisors/Line Leads to ensure employee performance reviews are conducted, reflecting accurate goals and performance.
- Schedule and conduct plant meetings with production and related staff
- Manage cost and manufacturing components such as package material, raw ingredients, fixed and variable labor, quality, efficiency, reliability, GMPs, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree; and/or 4 years of Experience in the Food Industry in similar role; Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); Budgeting and Cost Control; Strong Leadership and People Management skills, Interpersonal skills and Demonstrated Project/Team management capabilities that can meet aggressive deadlines; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, $75,000 - $100,000
