Cultivated by a team of farmers, we provide free, fresh produce to our distillery staff year-round through an on-site farmer’s market. Skills, Experiences, & Knowledge: We are looking for a candidate that possesses many but not necessarily all of the following
- 3+ years successfully growing production crops with regenerative farming practices in Central Texas or similar climate; extra credit for high tunnel experience
- 3+ years managing a team of 5-10; extra credit if done in an agriculture, food handling/kitchen, or grocery environment
- Proven skills in small engine operation, maintenance, and repair applied but not limited to basic lawn equipment, BCS tractor and implements, full size tractor, and Japanese mini trucks; including driving standard transmissions
- Proven skills in basic carpentry, plumbing/irrigation, HVAC a bonus
- Tech curious with excellent organization and communication bolstered with tools like Microsoft Office, Tend, or comparable apps
- Awareness that this position is labor oriented, outdoors, and year-round in Central Texas weather
- Must have a valid driver’s license (because driving is a component of the job duties) and be at least 21 years old
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Farm Director & Farm Operations Director to create annual production plan and set production targets to ensure highest quality and diverse offerings
- Managing daily field tasks & operations - Soil building, field prep, planting, cultivation, crop management, harvest, distribution - Supervise and train team to execute daily operations - Manage production flow and oversee production tasks - Motivate a productive team - Maintain common farm tools and equipment
- Evaluate and refine our systems and ability to meet the needs of our customers - Crop selection, cultivation methods, harvest and wash practices - Team performance and needs - Market performance and needs
- Keep abreast of industry research, techniques, and best practices to maximize resources and yields
- Ensure the team follows all legal and company health and safety regulations and standards
- Maintain detailed records of all farm activities ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety
- Collaborate with directors and other stakeholders to recruit, manage, and train a diverse and excited team
- Provide leadership and feedback to team and contribute to annual reviews
- Work directly with farm and distillery staff, suppliers and contractors, and other stakeholders
Pay & Benefits:
- Each member of our team goes through a 6-month trial period through our temp agency. After the 6-month review members are on-boarded as full-time employees and are eligible to enroll in the following benefits
- Starting salary is dependent on experience and ranges from $55,000- $65,000 (hourly rate + holiday bonuses & profit sharing)
- 401k match at 130% of your contribution up to $9000 annually
- Vacation and sick hours accumulate with each pay period averaging 2 weeks of each annually, 2 flex days annually, and paid major holidays
