Job description
Three Fins is hiring a full-time Coffeehouse Manager to lead our front-of-house team. The Coffeehouse serves specialty coffee espresso drinks, teas and other quality beverages and has a large pastry and dessert menu. We also have a marketplace of quality snacks and a retail selection of coffee merchandise & equipment. In addition to managing and training our staff, and offering excellent customer service the manager works closely with the owners to bring our company ideas forward to continually improve our offerings.
A Day in the Life of your Job: Each day you come in you will ensure that our espresso machines are dialed into the correct profile for quality, ensure that we have proper baked goods available and assist in baking as necessary and that the coffeehouse is presentable for the day! You will ensure that each of our team members understand the priorities for the day and what position they will be performing behind the bar. You will create a sense of welcome and community to our customers and say hi to our regulars and take the time to get to know our new customers.
You will also assess stock quantities and prepare vendor orders, review the weekly schedule for appropriate coverage and create the upcoming schedules. You will communicate with the production and roasting team to understand the new origins, new products and provide appropriate staff training on all new product introductions.
This is a hands-on position, and you will be working several Barista shifts as part of this position. You will need to open, close and work mid-shifts to ensure adequate coverage and be able to efficiently understand the flow of the operations. You will be responsible for cash management of the till, money on hand, and be the point person for the efficient running of the coffeehouse front of house operations.
Each week as necessary, you will attend cupping sessions with our roaster on our coffees to train your tasting palate, to ensure that you are able to assist customers with our coffee tasting notes and bean origins.
Ideal Candidates will have:
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity in a fast-paced specialty food retail, café or restaurant.
- A passion for serving customers
- A passion for coffee
- Excellent team communication and collaborations skills
- Have a positive attitude and able to inspire others
- Highly organized and highly attentive to keeping a clean and orderly shop
- Ability to work independently, delegate, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with retail POS systems
- At least 1 year of Barista experience
- Ability to work weekends and a demonstrated work ethic and on-time commitment.
- The ability to anticipate and resolve issues/problems on a proactive basis.

Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $45,000.00 - $55,000.00
