Soul Fire Farm is an Afro-Indigenous centered community farm committed to uprooting racism and seeding sovereignty in the food system. Our food sovereignty programs reach over 60,000 people each year, including farmer training for Black and Brown growers, reparations and land return initiatives for northeast farmers, food justice workshops for urban youth, home gardens for city-dwellers living under food apartheid, doorstep harvest delivery for food insecure households, and systems and policy education for public decision-makers. We are based on 80-acres of mountainside land in Mohican territory, Grafton NY.
Job description
The Senior Managing Director is responsible for planning, leading, directing, developing and coordinating policies and evaluations, ensuring legal compliance, developing staff and organizational culture, and implementing Soul Fire Farm’s mission. This includes managing and implementing HR procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws, tending to internal dynamics, demonstrating care of all staff, helping to address concerns that arise (if/as possible before they arise), coordinating team meetings, and providing accountability and bottom-lining review and revision of systems and processes. Compensation
