Job description
We are seeking experienced servers & cooks to join our catering team for a handful of events this summer! You will be responsible for providing high-quality service to our clients during these events. The ideal candidate should be friendly, professional, hard working, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a love for good food. While our prep kitchen is located in Limington, ME, our events take place at different venues all over Southern and coastal Maine. All venues are within 70 minutes of Portland, ME. Candidates must be able to provide their own transportation. Dates Needed: 8/19, 8/26, 9/2, 9/16, 9/23Waitstaff Responsibilities:-Set up event space including tables, chairs, linens, and decor as instructed by the event manager-Serve food and beverages to guests in a welcoming and professional manner-Clear dishes, glassware, and utensils from tables and clean the event space throughout the event-Assist in the setup and breakdown of the event space, including loading and unloading equipment and supplies-Communicate effectively with event coordinator, kitchen staff, and other servers-Be aware and attentive to guests’ food allergies-Be familiar with event menu and ingredients and be able to communicate the information to guests as needed-Follow all food safety guidelines and regulations-Other related assignments as necessary
Waitstaff Requirements:-Experience as a catering or restaurant server is preferred-Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well under pressure-Physical ability to be on your feet for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds-Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team, jumping to help wherever is needed-Strong work ethics are a must-Flexibility to work evenings and weekends-Knowledge of food and beverage service and basic food safety guidelines-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask-Ability to give, receive, and adapt to feedback-Passion for high quality, local, and healthy food!Catering Cook Responsibilities:-Prepare and cook dishes for events according to recipes and Kitchen Manager instructions-Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to a high standard and quality-Assist in menu planning and recipe development-Work with the Kitchen Manager and other staff to ensure that the food is delivered to the event on time and in the proper condition-Follow all food safety guidelines and regulations-Knowledge of cross-contamination and ability to accommodate guests with food allergies-Assist in the setup and breakdown of the event space, including loading and unloading equipment and supplies-Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure that all equipment and utensils are cleaned and sanitized after each use-Manage inventory and ensure that all ingredients and supplies are stocked and available for events-Other related assignments as necessary
Catering Cook Requirements:-Experience as a cook in a professional kitchen-Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques-Basic knife skills are a must-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and great attention to detail-Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays-Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time-Be curious and always seeking to learn and do things better, faster, and with more accuracy-Positive attitude and vibes are essential!Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
