Job description
The Banquet Service Lead will provide guests with the highest quality service while contributing to a team culture built on respect and professionalism. The role involves overseeing set up and break down of the event hall, proper organization of storage space, coordination of timing throughout the event, interfacing with the client, delegating tasks among team members, and expediting kitchen service as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Be an ambassador of our approach to food and hospitality; give warmth and energy in service, develop deep menu knowledge, ensure guests are ecstatically happy
- Deeply review BEO ahead of service, understand client and planner visions, prepare a plan for set up and service
- Prepare spaces for events, including furniture set up, tableware and glassware, bar prep and set up, cleanliness of space, and staff uniforms
- Own training for new staff members
- Own organization of the "Museum" storage space including furniture, glassware, tableware, and event decorations
- Report performance management issues to General Manager and other staffing concerns as needed
- Ensure event hall, team, and bar are all ready for event 15 minutes ahead of the event start time
- Track timing according to the BEO, hold a constant running dialogue with the kitchen regarding modifications to timing
- Oversee breakdown of event hall and miscellaneous items, ensuring all spaces are reset for tours and future events
- Adhere to all policies as provided by HR regarding staff disciplinary action, onboarding, anti-discrimination, harassment, ethical behavior, and any other policy defined in the Handbook or otherwise
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with the team and guests
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a banquet supervisor or server
- Ability to effectively carry dishes and cocktail trays
- Friendly, professional demeanor with guests
- Ability to take direction and to work and collaborate as a team member
- Ability to be on your feet for significant stretches of time and to lift approximately 50 lb
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Enthusiasm for delicious, locally-sourced food is a plus!
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $26.00 - $28.00
