WHO WE ARE:
Blakesville Creamery was founded in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. We have a brand new 10,000 sq ft state-of-the-art cheesemaking facility where we are focused on making soft ripened goat cheeses from the milk of our 1200-head goat dairy, located on the same property as the creamery. As we are a newer business, we are looking for a dynamic individual who wants to grow with our company and is flexible in their role and responsibilities.

You are someone who wants to dive head first into artisan cheesemaking, to grow and expand your knowledge of cheesemaking in tandem with growing our business. JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a full time position that requires 45-50 hours per week (Sunday - Thursday):
- Sunday: 10am-6pm
- Monday: 8am-5pm
- Tuesday: 8am-5pm
- Wednesday: 8am-5pm
- Thursday: 8am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and sanitizing all cheesemaking and cheese-care equipment
- Follow recipes and established procedures to produce a variety of cheeses
- Utilizing, cleaning, and sanitizing all cheesemaking equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Follow established protocols concerning food safety and quality in accordance with the Food Safety Plan and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Use of pH meter, moisture analyzer, and other technical equipment
- Record keeping to maintain the cheesemaking database as well as food safety documentation
- Be responsible for pasteurization and other equipment operation following proper training
- Ability to work and thrive in a production environment that is both hot (production room 75F) and cold (aging rooms 50-55F)
Skills Required:
- Previous cheesemaking experience preferred
- HACCP/HARPC, Food Safety Plan, or GMP knowledge preferred
- Stamina to be on your feet and continuously moving throughout the work day
- Attention to detail regarding safety, sanitation, record keeping, and quality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), email, and database entry
- Ability to work in both individual and group settings
- Ability (and desire) to work on your feet for long periods of time with the ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Chemistry, microbiology, or culinary studies preferred
LOCATION:
- On site at Blakesville Creamery, located in Port Washington, WI
COMPENSATION
- Salaried starting at $60,000 - $65,000 per year with the possibility of annual bonus based on production goals

Compensation
