Blue Hill at Stone Barns is looking for a Senior People Person

 

This position works alongside an experienced Human Resources department to craft Blue Hill’s culture of learning, experimentation and excellence. The ideal candidate will lend their talents to create an inclusive and supportive employee framework as Blue Hill transitions our focus from 100% restaurant — we’re working towards 60% restaurant and 40% education and research community. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Talent Acquisition, Onboarding and Enrichment

• Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and screening of qualified applicants.
• Develop and administer a thorough onboarding procedure for new hires.
• Organize staff communications, protocol updates, and enrichment opportunities.

 

DEI

• Steward existing initiatives and identify new DEI opportunities on campus, through collaborating closely with all teams: Farm Innovation, Special Projects, Communications, Development staff across both Stone Barns farm and Blue Hill restaurant. 
• Lead Blue Hill and Stone Barns’ DEI committee to strengthen its educational and culture-building role 

 

HR Administration

• Act as a liaison for both new and established employees for concerns regarding housing, lifestyle considerations, and personal issues.
• Provide support and guidance to management when complex and sensitive questions arise; administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
• Manage various legal considerations for the restaurant, including all facets of the Visa and relocation process for international applicants.
• Keep up to date with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

 

Location: Based in Pocantico Hills, New York, with once a week travel to New York City, New York

 

Schedule: In-person, Monday through Friday, with a willingness to work occasional nights or weekends. Four days per week at our Westchester location in Pocantico Hills, one day per week at our location in Greenwich Village.

Compensation

this position is: salaried, 75k-100k
